TACS Nonprofit Helpline
TACS Nonprofit Helpline offers brief consultation and on-line resources to help nonprofits with:

Financial Management
- Not-for-Profit Accounting Help is a free, semi-monthly electronic newsletter published by Oregon CPA Nancy Church and featuring articles on a wide variety of financial topics of interest to nonprofits. Also available from Nancy is Not-for-Profit Accounting: A Very Practical Manual for Bookkeepers, Accountants & Finance Directors of Small Nonprofits.
- TACS' Oregon Nonprofit Corporation Handbook has extensive information about effective nonprofit financial management, including recordkeeping and reporting requirements, functional budgeting, developing financial policies and procedures, payroll requirements, and assessing financial health.
- QuickBooks for Not-for-Profit Organizations provides step-by-step instructions for setting up and using QuickBooks in nonprofits. It includes methods for: addressing the needs of management, boards, and grantors; handling grants, contracts, and proposal; recording in-kind transactions and more.
- Terry Miller, a consultant on nonprofit financial and management issues, hosts a number of high-quality, free resources on his website, including sample cost allocation policies and budget models.

Nonprofit Salary Information
The Nonprofit Salary & Benefits Survey is published by The MBL Group, LLC, a Portland-based human resources consulting firm. The Survey compiles compensation information for more than 75 job titles from nonprofits throughout Oregon and SW Washington. Participating nonprofits have annual budgets ranging from under $250,000 to more than $10 million.
